In the Narrows
Hiking upstream freezing water was something I never thought I’d be doing.
After all, we decided the day before to make this trip to Zion National Park.
Besides getting-closer conversation with my two fellow brothers, the sights kept me speechless.
Everything was tranquil and scenic and beautiful.
At first, I focused on following the river winding through the Zion Narrows.
But halfway through, I began noticing the canyon walls stretched up to the sky.
They were there the whole time.
It got me thinking how narrow our thinking can get.
I forget to actually look.
I focus so much on progress that I forget about the wonder around me.
I want to see the walls as I travel the river.
